Amelia Wins Grade Track Meet In Clermont Schools

The annual Field and Track Meet for Grades 5-8 in Clermont County saw Amelia win both boys and girls divisions. Boys results: Amelia first, Mount Carmel second, Williamsburg third, Batavia fourth, New Richmond fifth, Pierce sixth, Franklin seventh. County May Sue For Sales Tax Funds

Clermont County Commissioners discussed possible legal action to compel release of sales tax funds from Auditor of State Joseph T. Ferguson. Auditor Blythe Jones noted state authority to withhold allocations for counties owing for wards. audit could reveal errors or overcharges totaling about $18,000 and potential release of 1938 funds. An investigator is examining the withheld 1938 allocation and, if grounds exist, Prosecutor Frank Roberts will be instructed to file suit.
