Ida Wilson Nears 101 Living Life Fully in Williamsburg

Ida M. Wilson, nearing her 101st birthday on June 2, reflects on a full life in Williamsburg. A widow for forty years and bed-ridden for twenty one, she remains active, sewing, crocheting, and writing poetry since age twelve. She cherishes memories of her two sons, works as a farm wife and seamstress, and adds that her faith and friends keep her hopeful for the future.

Father Son Camp-out At Liming's Lake Publicized

A three day father and son camp-out at Liming's Lake near Hamersville drew Pack 452 families led by Cubmaster Peter Kepf. The event ran Friday evening to Sunday with planning help from assistants Frank LeFever and Elmer Schneider and sponsorship by Williamsville Volunteer Fire Department. Teachers Enroll In Math Institute At OSU

Two Clermont County teachers join 73 participants in the Summer Institute for High School Teachers of Mathematics at Ohio State University running June 17 to August 9. J C Brandenburg and Danny P Swart of Moscow are among the enrollees. The eight week program aims to raise math knowledge and teaching effectiveness and aid new curriculum development. It is funded by the National Science Foundation and directed by Prof. Robert C Fisher.

Rabies Quarantine Placed on Dogs in Bethel Area

Corneal commissioner orders a four months quarantine for all dogs in Bethel Tate Washington Monroe and Franklin townships after rabies cases on Airport Road Bethel. Suspected dogs were taken to a Georgetown veterinarian who notified Brown County Health. heads sent to Columbus for testing with positive results. Dogs must be chained or penned, inoculated for rabies and tagged, and cannot run at large regardless of tags.

Countian Named Hospital Director

Laurence Nichols formerly of Afton has been named personnel director of Tampa General Hospital in Florida. A 1952 Williamsburg high school graduate, he served in the Air Force and studied business administration at Florida State. He and his wife Carmen Jenkins of Gainesville and their five children will move to Tampa soon from Gainesville.

Auto Agency Owner and Intruder Clash During Break-In

New Richmond AP Motors, a Ford dealership, was entered through a window Sunday. Owner Robert Painter wrestled with a man who fled to a nearby trailer park. Dewey Parker of New Richmond suffered facial and other injuries in an accident on U.S. 52 nearby. his condition was listed as fair. Police used bloodhounds but could not identify the intruder.

Central Baptist Church hosts VBS clinic at Calvary Blanchester

Day Named UA Division Chairman For County

George H. Day of Milford is named division chairman for Clermont County in the 1963 United Appeal. The campaign funds 125 agencies and 16 Red Cross services. Day will recruit volunteers and solicit gifts as part of a 38-member leadership team guiding about 30,000 volunteers across five counties in Ohio and Kentucky. Last year’s goal was 7,005,437, topped by 38,264.

Miami Club To Host Coca Swim Team Memorial Day

The Coca Cola Swimming Team will visit the Miami Hills Swim Club at 2 p.m. Memorial Day May 30. The club plans patio and deck expansion and curb installation. Voters approved the improvements by mail in the April 28 meeting with 160 for and 40 against.

Heights Fire Dept Auction At New Quarters

The Day Heights Volunteer Fire Department will hold an auction Saturday June 8 starting at 10:30 a.m. at the new fire house on Route 131. Items donated by residents will be collected by Hansel Vineyard Jack Nieporte or auctioneer Mike Orthman. The department aims to occupy the building by June 1 and also plans a festival for June 21 22 and 23.

Smith executive head of the Little Miami School District Morrow will address the 1963 Northeastern high school graduation Wednesday May 29 at 8 p.m. Smith an Illinois State Normal University graduate 1948 coached Owensville teams to multiple championships and started the Knot Hole program. He earned a Master of Education from Cincinnati in 1951 and has held district positions including Winchester and Miami.
