The Career Resource Center Mobile Unit from UC Clifton campus will visit Clermont College on Monday May 21 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Counselors will assist UC alumni and others. drop by the mobile unit in front of the main college entrance.

Frisch's requests tax abatement for a new east of I-275 complex including a motel for 600, a conference center for 100, two racquetball courts, a swimming pool and lounge, a full service restaurant for 200 seats and 172 employees. The project plans 230 new jobs, payrolls totaling $885,963, and a $1.75 million rise in tax value would raise real estate taxes by $61,250. The proposal, presented by Conover of Frisch's, seeks ten days for township trustees to respond and notes protection services may need expansion.
Sheriff Van Camp announced a permanent firing range for deputies with an air conditioner for the communications room and cleanup of the sheriff's office entrance area. County Engineer Walter Carter will use county equipment and off duty staff to level the area and build a mound to prevent stray shells. The sheriff said two master firearm trainers are qualified and that other county police may use the range, but he will not assume liability as trainer.
New Richmond National Bank changes hands to Paul D. Dunlap and W A Krause, Iowa executives, effective March 9. Krause becomes chairman while Charles Schneider and Harold Fille Jr retain leadership roles. Bank plans a $125,000 drive in window expansion as Milton Lustnauer’s investor group exits.
One year after the Auxier Gas Co blast that killed owner William D. Auxier and injured six, residents recount evacuation, property damage, and lawsuits. Six Meadowbrook families had sued to move the plant and a rezoning suit was dropped after high costs. W. Douglas Auxier declined to comment.
