Amelia High School will offer a voluntary summer term with courses in foreign policy science safe driving and typing. Preliminary registration runs until June 10 with regular registration June 3 through June 7. fees include 12 dollars for senior high and six dollars for junior high per course, with higher out-of-district rates.
Mrs. Ray Hilderbran of Day Heights views a dress cleaned and repaired by the Milford Goodwill Industries team at 312 Main. The store thanks Mrs. Loudermilk and local women donors whose materials fund Rehabilitation through Treatment Training Employment, with profits returning as wages to the handicapped workers.
Robert Slade announces results of the Ohio State Eighth Grade Scholarship Tests for Clermont County. Keith A. Stober led with 800. top ten include Haskell, Carter, Holman, Mullins, Moppin, Lang, McFaddin, Stevens, Workman, with many scoring in the state upper percentiles. An annual Scholarship Awards dinner will honor winners May 28 at the DX Ranch under PTA and county schools sponsorship.
Milford reports George C. Sidwell 54, county GOP leader, hospitalized at Our Lady of Mercy with heart insufficiency after illness following Republican clubs meeting at the D-X Ranch. Doctors plan a series of tests. his wife, a county tuberculosis nurse, said he may have initially had a heart attack.
Williamsburg post master Marvin Sprague announced a signed lease for the former Glancy's Furniture and Appliances store to house a new post office. The location offers about twice the space of the old office, rear parking, and the move is set for June 22 after a long community effort to secure city delivery.
NEW RICHMOND The Cler mont County League of Women Voters will hold its annual meeting May 16 at Cranston Memorial Presbyterian Church. The program includes a 10 30 a.m. business session, officer and director elections, budget adoption and local program decisions. After the noon luncheon Mrs John Gatch will speak on Foreign Economic Policy with reservations for the $2 luncheon to Mrs Randall McFarlan Rt 2 Box 32 New Richmond Ohio.
Mercy Hospital announces its sixth annual spaghetti dinner to benefit the Our Lady of Mercy building fund. Madisonville hosts the event at St Margaret of Cortona Cafe on Sunday May 19 from 12 30 to 7 p m with carry outs and free babysitting. Proceeds support the hospital and tickets are available by phone 271 6800 or at the door.
Amelia area welcomes Sky Hill Inc a new recreation club on Chapel Road near Route 132 222 with a June 2 grand opening. West Clermont Junior Women's Club sponsors the Cole Bros International Air Show at 1 p.m. Proceeds benefit club charities.
Milford Women’s Club meets May 21 at 7:30 p.m. at 222 Cleveland Ave. Nomination committee presents candidates for offices for 1963 64. Florence Joslin chairs with Violet Snell and Laura Chapman. Florence Samuelson will install new officers. Separately, Airman Jeffrey L. Pirman earned honor graduate in radar operator course at Keesler AFB Miss with 92 average and will be reassigned to Blue Ash Ohio.
Clermont County commissioners announce a switch to a separate health department telephone line to avoid misbilling. The health dept will reimburse the county, with a flat rate for a dedicated line not tied to the courthouse switchboard. The panel contemplates a civil defense compact and participation in a regional survey while honoring Junior Achievement students at the May 20 banquet.
William McGee of Rt. 4 Batavia ended his life Friday with a shotgun while visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs Harry Storer on Rt. 50 two miles east of Milford. The Milford Life Squad reported he had been despondent over ill health after retiring six months ago from Norwood Chevrolet after 36 years. His wife and Mrs. Storer, sisters, found him.
Union Township residents announce a Memorial Day parade and graveside service in the Withamsville Tabasco area to start from the fire department and proceed to the cemetery before noon on May 30. Parade is non commercial and open to community organizations. honorary uniformed service members may participate.
R Bruce Paschal was elected vice president of marketing for Standard Fruit and Steamship Company at the recent board meeting after the annual shareholders meeting in New Orleans. He will oversee marketing in the United States Canada Europe and the Far East and serves as officer of several subsidiaries including Standard Banana Company and Antillana S A.
The Northeastern high School band performs a concert on Wednesday May 15 at 8 p m in the high school gymnasium. A beginning band from Newtonsville and Marathon will join under Paul Krouskop. Marathon seventh grader Janet Reeder solos Aria and Rondo by Mozart. Brass includes Cheryl Akins Kay Paff Jim Martin Buck Layton. Reed players include Sarah Honeycutt John Benthein David Anspach Jerry Glancy Faye Emery.
