Army Deserter Arrested in Williamsburg

Harold Ellis of Williamsburg was arrested by Sheriff Tom Brooks and returned to Fort Thomas after officials labeled him a deserter. Ellis claimed he was not a deserter, but Fort Thomas officials identified him as one.

Batavia High announces a baccalaureate service on Sunday May 17 at 8 pm with Rev. Vernon Martin delivering the sermon. Commencement exercises are set for Friday May 22 at 8 15 pm in the auditorium. Henderson Captured After Escape From Lebanon Prison Farm

Harvey Henderson was recaptured by Sheriff Tom Brooks and deputies ABott and Colonel after escaping Leb anon Prison Farm over a month ago. He was returned to the Lebanon farm Sunday to serve the remainder of his sentence for a non support charge from Judge White's court nearly a year ago.

Wheat Allotments For 43 To Be Determined

Clermont county 3-A Committee sets 1943 wheat allotments. Farms not harvesting in 1940 41 or 42 without 1943 harvest plans may apply by June 1 1942. No 1943 payment for new type allotments. planting within allotment avoids penalties and avoids 1943 quotas if acreage does not exceed 15 acres or the larger allotment. After June 1 1942, unused allotment acreage will be reassigned to regular wheat farms.
