Senior services to receive first tax levy funds from county

Clermont Senior Services, Inc. has received the first half mill levy funds, up to 4850 weekly, to support transportation, homemaker, home health, and advocacy programs. Lois Brown Dale notes the money will replace lost federal funds and cover a wide range of services while awaiting bids for purchases over 5000. The agency has billed about 55000 annually for transportation and in-home services, and hopes the levy will also fund centers, health screenings, foster care, classes, and volunteer programs. Dale emphasizes aging-vehicle needs and reduced federal support for private nonprofits.
