The National 4 H Girls Record contest continues for 1944 to name the top all around 4 H Club girl in each county. County winners receive gold plated medals from Montgomery Ward. the top county scorer becomes the state's 4 H O girl and earns a trip to the National 4 H Club Congress in Chicago. Minstrel Show Delights Local Audience at School Auditorium

Junior Woman's Club staged a minstrel show Thursday evening with the Senior Club in attendance. The High School Bull Dogs opened with a concert, showcasing a large cast including Lou Lewis, Rey Nichols, Jim McCoy, Don Jenkins, Walter Eisnau, and many more. Performers included dancers, soloists, and a tap dance class from Patti Osborn, plus special numbers by Iona Colbert and others. Accompanist Eloise Gompf provided piano support.

Mayors Court Dockets Rewarding Reckless Driving And Theft

Charles Laphool pleaded guilty in the mayor s court to taking a purse containing nine dollars at Filly s Cafe Amelia and was bound over to the grand jury on a $300 bond. James M Neil faced a reckless driving charge after sideswiping a car on Tobaco Road near Route 125 and was fined fifty dollars and costs. Nesbert L Moorefield was arrested for reckless driving after a head on collision with Oscar B Nye s car and was fined twenty five dollars and costs.
