Cincinnati relatives claim a photograph helped identify the youth held in Clermont County jail after deputies found him behaving oddly at a restaurant. Fred Wrinkelbach, 19, of 4487 Eastern Avenue, reportedly had brain surgery a year earlier and did not speak to officers. A relative traveling from Cincinnati recognized him from the newspaper photo and arrived to collect him.
Clermont County Commissioners announced the county experiment farm will be sold by public auction on Saturday June 2 at 1 pm at the farm. Clinton Green serves as temporary overseer to show the premises. A $5 000 certified cashier or cash deposit is required the day of sale with balance due on deed delivery or within 30 days. The board retains possession until full payment and deed delivery.
Wayne Lowell Bachman, 10, son of H. Lowell and Mrs Bachman of Milford, drowns in Redbird Creek near the Little Miami River after falling from a tree while fishing. Duane Meyer runs for help. responders from Standard Oil Station and Police Chief Wintersole fail to revive him. Funeral services held at Craver Funeral Home with burial in Greenlawn Cemetery.
Lucia Evans a 13 year old Owensville eighth grader won the Southern Ohio champion spelling title last Saturday in the Post WCPO Spelling Bee. She defeated seven semi finalists and spelled frontispiece after Frank Partee misspelled it. The prize includes a week long all expense Washington DC tour to represent the Cincinnati Post in the National Spelling Bee on May 25. The 1951 event drew 280 champions from over 30 000 pupils.

Milford Council appoints Edward Seibert to fill the vacancy caused by Oscar Slagle’s death in an auto crash on April 13. Seibert, owner of New Town Coal and Supply, was chosen unanimously by Mayor A G Aiken and the council. A push for a public swimming pool drew support from local high school students.
Mr and Mrs Clyde Frank of Amelia announce the engagement of their daughter Mildred Mae to Pvt Stanley Wells Jr of New Richmond Ohio He is the son of Mr and Mrs Stanley Wells Sr
After a two weeks survey, Clermont County Engineer Carl Rush estimates road repairs at 83 693 12 dollars for 202 miles of county roads. State and county highway departments seek private bids May 18 due to fund and worker shortages.
About 300 scouts cubs explorers and leaders joined the Boy Scout Pilgrimage to Grant birthplace at Pt Pleasant. The Clermont District received a large American flag from Milford Unit 450 Ladies Auxiliary presented by Mrs Howard Odoms. John Friend accepted the flag as county Scout Commissioner. A parade led by the Moscow Band followed an all day camp and Sunday church service. Russell Speidel chaired the program with Charles Abbot as general chairman.
