Byron Ross aged 51 of Felicity becomes treasurer of Clermont County with Francis M. Shields of Williamsville as deputy after Wednesday appointment by county commissioners. Ross, a 25 year veteran in federal agricultural agencies, has a farm near Felicity and a B.S. in agriculture from Ohio State. Shields, 43, brings finance and auditing experience from Getz Jewelry, First National Bank, and Trailmobile. Bond set at 50 000 dollars. Ross assumed office Friday with possible adjustment later.

Damaged section to be repaired with $1 to correct a slide on Rt 74 near Batavia. Joseph Unger of the highway department in Middletown said road closure for four days will be necessary and weather will affect progress. Batavia physician Dr Frederick S Skeen will supervise about 200 youngsters at the Owensville school with nurse Helen Skeen and RN Mrs Herbert Rein assisting. High Court Denies Amelia School District Withdrawal
Ohio Supreme Court rules 75 percent vote required to dissolve from West Clermont consolidation is reasonable. Groh and Lorentz lose appeal to withdraw Amelia from the district. West Clermont was created in 1956 by voters from Amelia Williamsville Tabasco and Mt Carmel Glen Este districts.
