John Bulow of Clough Heights received The Courier and Insurance Agents Association Heroism Award for rescuing four year old Joey Pride from a deep water-filled excavation in Mt. Carmel in February. Treasurer Joseph T. Ferguson announced weekly sales tax receipts totaled 3 082 054 for the week ending March 14 1959 up 298 399 or 10.7 percent from the 2 783 695 recorded the prior year. Clermont County reported 25 142 88 nearly tripling last year’s 8 922 45. Cumulative year to date reached 612 311 56 up 40 431 30 from last year as total 1959 receipts stand at 157 349 641 two percent behind last year’s level.

Roy Fuhr recalls growing up in the business. Waites hails from Clermont County and has lived in Owensville since 1934. Duchemin worked 23 years for Cincinnati Milling Machine Co.
