Wife in hospital husband jailed after Mt Holly quarrel

Mrs. Rendye Taylor 35 of Batavia Route 2 lay in Bethesda Hospital with a broken jaw and possible skull fracture after a midnight assault by her husband Hesel Taylor 39 of Mason Ohio. Taylor, charged with assault with intent to kill, turned himself in Sunday. The couple has five children who were taken in by neighbors.

Williamsburg Men Suffer Injuries After Car Off Road

Three Williamsburg youths Wil liam Creager 22 William Schuman 24 and Donald Hamm 22 were injured when Creager’s car ran off the roadway and wedged between a hillside and a retaining wall at Columbia Parkway and Grandin Road. Creager said he fell asleep. Hamm suffered fractures and was rescued by the life saving squad and hospital. Creager was charged with reckless driving.

Norma Johns to Wed John Wuichert Jr in Columbus

Milford Student Earns Dean's List Honor at UC Law

Paul E. Riffle of Mulberry was cited on the dean's list of the University of Cincinnati College of Law for outstanding scholastic work in the first semester. A Milford High School graduate of 1984, he earned a BA from Ohio Wesleyan University last spring as a freshman in law.

Army recruiting party to visit Batavia from Fort Thomas

The 10th Infantry Recruiting Party from Fort Thomas Kentucky will tour Batavia on March 31 with a 20 man Drum and Bugle Corps led by Sergeant Leo R Klein. The party will recruit for the Regular Army Reserve and will base at the Batavia Armory for on site enlistments and information sessions.

March 31 Deadline For Adjustments For Winter Wheat

Clermont county farmers who seeded more winter wheat acres than listed in their crop insurance must file an adjustment and pay an additional premium by March 31. Barnard C. Saxton, chairman of the Vermont County Agricultural Conservation Association, says policy should cover all wheat acreage on a farm and all wheat produced is counted from the planted acres.

Carl Piper Victim Of Death By Own Action

Carl Piper aged 53 formerly of Norwood killed himself Tuesday March 21 in a barn on his Guinea farm seven miles north of Milford. He shot himself in the right leg then fell 10 feet from a ladder with a noose around his neck. Mrs Piper found a note and neighbors discovered the body. Survived by widow, three daughters and four brothers. funeral arrangements set in Cincinnati.

Clermont officials seek funds from state relief program

County Commissioners Manly Hill Sam Ausman and J M Hutchinson Deputy Auditor Earle Kincaid and Surplus Commodities Administrator Ernest Ruffner traveled to Columbus to press for Clermont county relief from the $5,000,000 state fund. They aim to use alcohol tax income as matching funds to raise about $6,000 with state matching to reach $12,000, a far cry from last year’s $26,000. The delegation argues the current fund administration discriminates against smaller counties.

Denny entertains with cross roads comedy as the group performs old time mountain tunes and strings.
