Debbie Lenk, daughter of Mr and Mrs Albert Lenk, Amelia, will perform accordion at the Amelia Elementary Band Boosters Local Talent Show on Friday March 29 at 8 p m in the school auditorium. Three age group awards and door prizes will be offered. Featured guests The Explosions include Jerry Berwanger Shelley Payton Bob Waddel Jim Connor Jo Forest with judges Mrs Frank Mayer George Mallett and Bill Ellis.

Milford High School Band won a class A 1 II rating at Princeton High School in Cincinnati area competition. The group debuted with newly acquired Sousa phonographs and multiple instruments after prior shortages, under interim director Fred Bauer while Daniel Koch was away. Woman Fined for Striking Milford Neighbor Boy
Theresa Graff 34 of Milford was fined twenty dollars and costs for striking a 13-year-old neighbor boy. The boy’s father John L. Caldwell filed three assault and battery charges against Mrs Graff, accusing her of striking his three sons. She was acquitted on the charges regarding the younger two boys.

Prospect hearing on rezone for Sky Park recreation center
The Batavia Township Board of Zoning Appeals will hold a hearing April 2 to consider Dr. Paul Germann's request to re zone a 104 acre tract on Chapel Rd near Mt Holly to allow a commercial recreation center. Sky Park would feature an airport strip, subdivision, shopping center, large pool, ice rink, tennis, basketball, horseback riding, fishing and picnicking with a membership plan. If approved, memberships may be sought by May.

Tom Ellis former Amelia High School basketball star finished his tenure with Morehead State College in Morehead Kentucky He played 18 games this season scoring 162 points an average of 9.0 He started as forward on the Ohio Valley Conference title team and had 18 points 18 rebounds against East Tennessee and Tennessee Tech He earned honorable mention on the All OVC and totaled 240 points for the year He helped lead MSC to the 1961 OVC championship and appeared in the NCAA tournament It is noted he is also a baseball prospect and holds intramural 220 yard dash record He is the son of Mr and Mrs Thomas Ellis of Amelia.

Man Held in Jail for Wife Beating
Milford Owen White, 33, held in Hamilton County Jail on assault and battery charges for beating his common law wife Loretta White, 23. She remained in critical condition at General Hospital with fractures to both arms, nose, possible skull fracture, swelling, and internal injuries reported by Loveland police at their Brooklyn Road home. Clermont County Sheriff Clyde B. Derricks and Loveland Police cooperate with the Hamilton County Sheriff's office in the investigation.

Man Bound Over In Cutting Case
Philip Gardner of Forest Ave Batavia battled police early Saturday and cut Cpl. Richard Davis on three fingers with a knife hidden in a glove. Judge Louis Schwartz fined Gardner 100 and costs and sentenced him to 30 days in jail for resisting arrest. He also was fined 25 and costs for public intoxication and bound over to the grand jury on a concealed weapon charge with bond set at 1000. Gardner is accused of cutting Cpl. Davis when he and Patrolman Larry Evans stopped Gardner at Main St and Riverside Dr.
