Burglars Stole a Suit of Clothes From Goshen Home
G D Holliday of Goshen reported burglars took a new unworn suit and trousers while he and his wife were out. Deputies found two 16 year old boys, Fred Smith of Cincinnati and Albert Kiden of Barnesville, who confessed after being questioned near Batavia. They had escaped from an institution in Columbus and wore Holliday’s clothes back to the jail.

Farmer Shot While Hauling Posts After Hawk Incident
Ed Tucker, a Felicity neighborhood farmer, was accidentally wounded in the right shoulder Thursday afternoon. He had shot a hawk taking his chickens, placed the gun on a wagon, and a rough road jarred it, causing the full load to lodge in his shoulder. He received first aid at home and was rushed to the hospital. the blood loss alarmed his friends. He is a tenant with a family on the farm.

Rural Ohio Masonic inspection drew four hundred visitors
Last Friday in Owensville three chapters Milford, Owensville and Batavia held a joint inspection with Worthy Grand Matron Mrs. Hood presiding. Officers wore white and the audience included visitors from Kentucky and Indiana. The event, the first rural lodge joint inspection in Ohio, ended with refreshments and praised book-keeping. Four hundred attendees and participation from nearly every county chapter marked the night.

Rabid Dog Head Shipped for Examination in Columbus
John Wheeler of Lindale carried the head of a dog killed in Lindale to Batavia for shipment to Columbus for rabies tests. The ten dogs bitten were confined awaiting the Columbus report. Officials warn that care is needed when an afflicted dog runs at large to protect people and animals.

Clarence Mosbacher, a young farmer from Batavia township, was seriously injured while loading a sack of feed at the mill. An x ray at Dr. Ashburn’s showed a fracture of the left transverse process of the spine. He is kept immobile at home and will be laid up for several weeks.
