Weaver Post American Legion along with the Batavia Men's Club Batavia Recreation Association and Clermont Courier sponsors invite all under 15 to a 3 p m Easter egg and treasure hunt at the Legion grounds east of Batavia If weather is bad the event moves to the Batavia Armory at 4 p m with the same prizes 39 special prizes valued up to 2 50 cash prizes and items like roller skates candy and clothing Eggs numbered to win prizes will be hidden with numbers posted in local shop windows and winners collect on Main Street after the hunt Donations from local merchants and the Legion support the event with eggs and prizes

Walter McFarland a 60 year old New Richmond farmer pled guilty to drunkenness and disorderly conduct after eight death by own action attempts on March 8 He was fined 100 dollars and costs but remanded to the county jail because he could not pay the fine following arraignment before Mayor J F Paschal in Batavia on March 14

Work of Vandals Suspected in Fire At Summer Home
A fire gutted a summer cottage owned by G. K. Speller on Lake View Drive Locust Lake near Amelia. Fire Chief Francis Stievenard blamed possible vandalism after finding a rear door unlocked. The blaze rekindled around 1 00 a m Friday causing total loss. The Spellers reside in Ft Thomas Kentucky. their son G K Speller Jr. offered no explanation.

A kerosene stove fire at the Amelia area home of Mrs Marjory Perkins caused second and third degree burns to the 32 year old housewife. Fire damage to the property and furnishings was estimated at 1500 and 2000 dollars. Mrs Perkins was treated by Dr Victor Sperling and later admitted to Good Samaritan Hospital.

Old Building Burns. Milford Landmark Damaged
One of Milford's oldest landmarks the auto repair shop of C Pred Motzer on Main and Walnut was badly damaged by a fire Monday afternoon believed caused by an overheated metal forge. Firemen from Milford and Miamiville fought flames about two hours with losses estimated at 3000 to 4000 dollars for the structure and 500 to 1000 dollars for contents. The 108 year old building, moved from Olive Branch in 1896, has a long local history.

Robert Pringle, 71, was found dead in his New Richmond trailer home after neighbors reported he did not answer deliveries. Coroner cites heart ailment as cause. he had been under treatment for a heart condition. Services set at Lew F. White funeral home with burial in Greenmound Cemetery.
