Prosecutor Ralph A. Hill asked State Examiner Warren A. Morrison to appear before the county grand jury meeting March 26 27 after Hill completes study of a critical Clermont County government report. A bipartisan Citizens group met March 13 at Amelia to coordinate possible legal action and demand resignations if prosecutors fail to act.

Thieves Take 275 Sticks of Dynamite From Trailer

Bethel reports 275 sticks of dynamite stolen from a tool storage trailer near Rt. 232 bridge and culvert project. Foreman Wilford Smith said the dynamite was placed March 8 and labeled 60 percent strength, requiring detonation by can and a severe blow.

School Transfer Election Day Set

The Clermont County Board of Education approved a May 15 special election for Anderson township Precinct Y residents to decide on transferring from West Clermont to Forest Hills school district. A 55 percent majority is required. A petition with 929 signatures justified the move to impact the next school year. Fire destroys home in Cherry Grove. The Johnson family home at 640 Nordyke Rd. burned at 1:25 a.m. Monday, estimated loss $15,000.

Batavia Dog Warden hailed as hero by some residents

In Batavia a dog threatened a neighborhood during a day and night incident. A man returned home to a snarling animal that leapt at the front door and glass. After a chase involving a stick he escaped to his car, narrowly avoiding further attack as the dog persisted.

Radio broadcast weighs Caesar Creek and East Fork reservoirs

A Milford radio program on WPFR sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce and Downtown Businessmen’s Association discussed two flood control proposals Caesar Creek in Warren County and East Fork in Clermont County. Feed Grain Program Attracts 410 Farms in Clermont County

Clermont County farmers sign up 410 farms diverting 4182 acres under the 1962 feed grain program. Carey Thompson, chairman of the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation County Committee, announced the signup runs Feb 8 through March 30 and notes $94,000 already paid as advance on future payments.
