Woman Ends Life by Hanging in Edenton Garage
Mrs. Mary Holden, 43, wife of Tony Holden, of Edenton, reportedly hanged herself with a sash in the garage of their home Friday. Husband and neighbor were away in Dayton. body found upon return. Sheriff said Holden knew of no reason for the act. Survived by husband, a brother Louis 24, and daughter Ida May 22.

Child Died In Fire From Kitchen Stove Explosion
Last Friday a fire in a converted schoolhouse home claimed the life of 5 year old Joseph Ray Caplinger from suffocation after a stove explosion. His sister escaped a burning bedroom as Nelson Caplinger, 26, was burned rescuing the children. Christine Hodge suffered minor burns. Sheriff Dericks and Deputy Bissantz investigated with Coroner Dr. Allan B. Rapp.

Mother of Williamsport school superintendent dies at 78
Martha G. Thirey mother of Russell W. Thirey Williamsport School Superintendent died at her Monterey home last Sunday at age 78. Services were held Wednesday at Monterey Presbyterian Church with burial in Greenlawn Cemetery Milford. She was born Martha Glancy and lived in the Monterey area all her life. She suffered a stroke seven years ago and leaves her son, husband Frank A. Thirey, two daughters Leontine Innis and Louetta Edman, a brother M. H. Glancy, two sisters Mary Moorehead and Zoa Varney, and four grandchildren.

A Clermont County County Home Demonstration Council was formed with two representatives from each township. Mrs. George Nash of Summerside was elected Chairman, Mrs. George Sheppard of Lindale Vice-Chairman, and Mrs. Marvin Sprague of Marathon Secretary-Treasurer. Committee roles include representation on the County Agricultural Council and Safety Committee, Fair Committee leadership, and 1948 Achievement Day planning. Zagar Rites Held After Death in Afton Home

Hambone Ellis Freed Then Re-Arrested in Williamsburg
