Burial of Allen Curliss After 22 Years at Dayton Hospital

For seven weeks she could not lie down, resting with head on a chair back or table. She can now lie down but little improvement. Friends in Miami and Batavia join Waynesville in hoping for a speedy recovery of this estimable lady.

Damages Sought in Flora Wilson Village of Williamsburg
Flora Wilson sued the Village of Williamsburg for 5000 dollars claiming injuries from a several inch step off a pavement on Main street near C. H. McNutt's store caused by village neglect. The jury trial was dismissed after witnesses testified and the court ruled insufficient evidence for a verdict, leaving Wilson to pay costs. the defect has since been repaired.

Two Fingers Lost While Operating Mill Grinder
Last Monday William Heitman and his son of Willowville prepared to grind feed when the machine seized his hand drawing it into the rollers. Two fingers were mashed badly requiring amputation. Heitman was brought to Batavia where surgeons removed the fingers and the patient declined anesthesia.

Man Arrested for Non-Support Bound Over in Local Court
John Manne a married man with a wife and three children living above town on the John Glenn place was arrested last Monday on a warrant from Squire Lease's court for non-support near Amelia. He was bound over to the grand jury in 300 dollars and released on his own recognizance on the promise to find work and support his family. If he fulfills the promise, likely no further punishment will be given. Mrs. Spencer the probation officer supervised the matter.
