Cal Duncan, resident historian and radio narrator on WLYK, honored with the Freedom Foundation Valley Forge Honor Award 1977 for advancing understanding of the American way of life. Miller announced the award from Valley Forge. Duncan lives with wife Gladys in Cincinnati, Union Township, Clermont County, and is working on a book compiling his Tales of Intrigue.
Jan Fisher of New Richmond receives the annual Youth Award from the United Appeal as a nine county area representative chosen by the local scout council. A longtime Girl Scout, she previously earned Clermont County Miss Hope and an International Girl Scout event opportunity. She plans a nursing career at Christ Hospital School of Nursing and University of Cincinnati Evening College while working weekends as a Student Nurse's Aide with cancer patients and supports Hospice initiatives.
