Real estate values to rise says county auditor Rymer

Clermont County Auditor James R. Rymer warns real estate values will increase substantially this year due to the reappraisal and new tax structure. He cites development and farm land sales as drivers and notes agricultural use value can shield large landowners from hikes though a March 1978 deadline applies for applying. Tax credits may offset higher levies if agricultural use value cannot be secured. Rymer urges eligible farm owners to contact his office and reminds homeowners 65 or older or disabled with low income to file homestead for 1978 taxes payable in 1979 by June 5.
