All Star Game Set for Milford to Raise Town Memorial Fund

Clermont County Athletic Association approves an All-Star game to back a Townsend memorial. Two players from each county squad form an eighteen person team to practice at Williamsburg High School under J. W. Prewitt. Milford High will host the main game March 21 in Milford with a pregame at 7:30 PM. Only 600 tickets at 40 cents, no at‑door sales, available through local coaches.

Ohio Valley Egg Cooperative Formed In Cincinnati

Egg producers from Ohio and Indiana move to form the Ohio Valley Egg Cooperative to market graded eggs. A meeting on March 2 at Hotel Metropole in Cincinnati named temporary officers led by Chairman Harold Koker and listed incorporators from Batavia Greenfield and Russellville. Support comes from county agents and poultry marketing bodies of Ohio Indiana and Kentucky.

Boy Scouts to Organize Cub Packs in Owensville Loveland

County Boy Scout leaders plan two meetings to form new Cub Troops. On March 21 at 8 P M the Owensville High School hosts the first session, followed by a March 22 meeting in Loveland Mayor's office at 8 P M. Parents of boys ages 9 to 12 are urged to attend.

Expected Home Lt Mattox to Return on Furlough

Lt Richard B Mattox son of Mr and Mrs Arthur Mattox of Amelia has completed special training at Lowry Field Colorado and is expected home soon on a furlough before overseas duty. A B 29 pilot he earned his wings in June 1944 Napier Field Alabama and has since undergone further study in Colorado, now stationed in San Diego. His wife Rita Kennedy Mattox accompanies him in San Diego. He graduated Amelia High School in 1942 and enlisted in the Air Corps in 1943.

Mundew Named Chairman of National Clothing Drive

Batavia Mayor Mundew has been appointed chairman of the National Council for the United National Clothing Collection. The drive runs April 1 to May 1 to aid war-torn Europe. A March 28 meeting invites all organizations and churches to form collection teams.

Clermont County Agricultural Council to Meet at Batavia School

The Clermont County Agricultural Council will convene Monday evening March 19 at 8 P M in Batavia School to set constitution and by laws and fill standing committees. Ohio State University safety specialist William Stuckey will present plans for a rural safety program expanding to four counties, with Clermont possibly chosen as an experimental county.

Bethel Celebrates Bond Retirement of Municipal Light Plant

Bethel in Clermont County reports the retirement of its 120000 dollar municipal light plant debt with bonds paid March 1 1945. The plant with four units now delivers 1100 horsepower up from 300, and 1944 electric charges averaged 3.40 per 100 kwh down from 10. The village on State Route 125 aims to buy a 690 horsepower unit to meet load with federal approval. Residents paid 29335.63 for electric current in 1944. four engineers are employed.
