New Richmond officials and residents pressed Metro to expand bus service at a Cincinnati meeting. They proposed a once a week run in addition to the existing morning and evening trips and urged continued service to Loveland if possible. Metro may ask Loveland mayor for a public meeting and will review community input.
The county plans a 1900 square foot modular building to house the board of education. Bids are set for 28 at 10 a.m. on county property near Ohio 222 and Filager Road. A second office near Riverside Drive and Spring Street in Batavia is also planned to support court facility expansion.
The Clermont County Board of Health approved sponsoring a dental clinic at the Community Services Center Batavia for five and six year olds with plans to serve children of all ages through school based eligibility. The program is funded by 97000 state funds and a 42000 Ohio Educational Opportunities grant with potential budget impact if funds shift.
Clermont County Health Commissioner R K Lancaster blasts development processes in his annual report. He warns development must slow and sewage treatment must improve, opposing expanded services amid weak finances. The report notes heart disease as the leading death cause and cites Beckford Power Station’s air-pollution upgrades due by July 1, 1975.
The Goshen board reviewed bus garage plans to house and maintain the system. The 60 by 72 foot building is set for use in the 1975 76 school year.
New Richmond officials report charges brought against Officer Brown. The council advances the master plan and a potential site at the low-bottom park as CG and E seeks approval to fill land with ash waste. City solicitor Albert Brown and downtown tours by OKI staff member David Burger are discussed to study Port development along the Ohio River.
W Clermont officials discuss placing a ballot measure for a new school with proposals to avoid split sessions. The panel analyzes staffing including a guard, with teachers Rebecca Roby and Carolyn Hunt named. A March 24 meeting in Columbus with the Ohio Department of Transportation will address transportation and Miami Township traffic, as Milford Mayor Nancy Storch and trustees discuss.
