Boy Scouts Form Local Troop With Bright Prospects

Official Dies as Brown County Treasurer W E McMullen
W E McMullen 48 treasurer of Brown county died at his Georgetown home Saturday March 2 at 10 36am after a month long mastoid illness and a week bed fast. He was serving his second term and had lived near Georgetown before election. Funeral services were held Tuesday at 10 from the Presbyterian Church. His widow was named by county commissioners to serve out the unexpired term.

Milford appoints George Murphy as village solicitor

Dies Suddenly in New Richmond at 78
Clinton T Bainum 78 of New Richmond died Friday at 2 a m after a short illness. A lifelong resident, he helped grow the town from a village to a 2200 population and held roles as township and village clerk and longtime notary public. He was a Mason and Knights of Pythias member and served as assessor. He is survived by his sister Eva and another sister Mrs Joseph Frey. Funeral is Sunday with burial in Green Lawn Cemetery.

Former Clermonter Thomas L Simmerman to Retire as Pleasant Ridge Principal
Thomas L Simmerman, longtime Cincinnati educator and former Clermonter, will retire as principal of Pleasant Ridge School. He arrived in Cincinnati in 1890, taught at Pleasant Ridge since 1808, led its high school for 21 years, and helped integrate it with East High which became Withrow High. He served on local exam boards and as a church elder and Sunday school superintendent.
