L. L. Walther former Brown County probate judge and current mayor of Georgetown was found dead in his room last Wednesday from suicide by hanging. He retired in poor health after troubling speculations and left a widow and two children at age 48.
W R Ely of Batavia urges weekly hen-house cleaning and soil composting to prevent disease. He recommends whitewashing twice yearly, coal oil with carbolic acid perches, dry soil for dust, and powdered sulfur to deter lice.
