The first degree murder trial of John McGehean of Marathon for the Eddie Gansman killing on November 27 is set to begin March 13 before Judge Charles White. Prosecutor Frank Roberts and ex-prosecutor Forrest Ely lead the state. defense is Nichols Speidel & Nichols. The defense claims accidental shooting. Mrs. Gansman testifies as prosecuting witness. McGehean was deemed sane after 30 days at Lima’s Criminal Insane Hospital. The revolver reportedly discarded in the Miami River has not been recovered.

OSU Concert Band Plans Southern Ohio Tour

Two Stills Captured and Men Arrested for Whisky Making

The P T A will hold its next meeting on Friday March 17 with the County Superintendent of Schools to discuss school affairs. Fifth and sixth grades will have a Safety First program. Valentine parties were enjoyed by all with several hundred distributed. Present enrollment 138 with 88 in lower rooms and 55 in upper rooms. Playground activities include baseball and partner-catchers replacing basketball. Average attendance last month was 98.7 percent and daily attendance is urged ahead of upcoming exams. Diagnostic and Achievement tests have been administered regularly.
