The postal savings bank bill passed by the Senate designates post offices for savings depositories run by the post master general, attorney general and secretary of the treasury. Any person ten or older may deposit up to 500 dollars at a time with five percent reserved for withdrawals. Deposits go to State and National banks that must bond with the government. holders can convert to government bonds. The government may invest up to eighty five percent of funds in bonds and fourth class postmasters receive extra pay.
