Piano Recital By Staderman Pupils In Cincinnati

A piano recital by Adolph H. Staderman’s pupils was held in the auditorium at Seventh and Elm streets Cincinnati. James F. Dial of Batavia performed impromptu pieces in E flat Op. 90 No. 2 by Schubert and Kamennoto Detrow in F sharp Op. 10 No. 22 by Rubenstein, delivering a performance that matched the event’s high standard.

M E Church Sees Large Attendance and 28 Baptisms

Last Sabbath at M E Church a large congregation attended morning services. Rev Burdsall baptized 17 persons and received 11 on probation. Sunday school benefits from house to house visitation aiming to boost attendance. Fourth quarterly conference set for Friday at 7 PM in the Sunday school room. July 8 services include Sunday school at 9, communion at 8, love feast and Epworth at 6:80, preaching by Dr D Aultman at 7:80. All urged to attend.

Seventh Encampment of United Spanish War Veterans in Elyria

The seventh annual encampment of the United Spanish War Veterans Department of Ohio will be held in Elyria on July 3 4 and 6. More than a thousand members are expected for a three day meeting with receptions parades drills and a military ball. Special rates are offered for veterans and friends the day before and after the encampment.

Postal Savings Banks Implemented by New Bill

The postal savings bank bill passed by the Senate designates post offices for savings depositories run by the post master general, attorney general and secretary of the treasury. Any person ten or older may deposit up to 500 dollars at a time with five percent reserved for withdrawals. Deposits go to State and National banks that must bond with the government. holders can convert to government bonds. The government may invest up to eighty five percent of funds in bonds and fourth class postmasters receive extra pay.

Ohio Tax Commission Appoints Three Members

The Ohio Tax Commission created under the Langdon law was appointed by Governor Harmon. William B. Poland of Cincinnati real estate dealer, H. E. Munn of Bowling Green ex treasurer and banking interest, and Robert M Ditty of Hillsboro lawyer join to oversee state taxation and replace the former Board of Appraisers. Frank Stymers of Pers on Township suffered a paralytic stroke at home last Saturday.
