A vehicle on Rt. 125 in Bantam plowed into the Edward Heinemann residence early Saturday after the driver, Clifton Coleman, 24, of Hamersville, told police he had fallen asleep. Two rooms of the house were demolished but family members sleeping inside were uninjured.
Ohio State Highway Patrol seeks cadet dispatchers at Mt. Carmel Post and posts statewide. The on the job program can lead to Patrol Academy appointment and eventual patrolman status. Applicants must meet height weight age and residency requirements and be high school graduates. The current class is largely made up of former cadets and the drive aims to reach 700 plus turnover for the Turnpike staffing, with 624 current strength and 36 trainees nearing Academy completion.
A petition was filed in Clermont County Common Pleas Court seeking an injunction against the Clermont County Board of Health to stop interference with the Williamsburg dump operated by Charles Moore. Sanitarian Ralph Frazier inspected the site with Deputy Charles Lea but no arrests were made. the dump continues to operate until court action.

Ohio Liquor Control issued 188 citations for alleged liquor law violations in May. Three violators came from Clermont County with $100 fines and ten days in jail. Director Richard C. Crouch released the monthly enforcement report detailing five charges per citation.
Batavia zoning board approved rezoning of the Third and Broadway Street site for a public library. The plans call for a brick 150 by 60 foot building with reading and storage space, garage for three bookmobiles, two apartments that could later become library space, and a minimum ten year library use requirement. Harry Kahle has an option on the site from Elizabeth Ross.
