Fatal Fire Injury In Nicholsville Mrs Ollie West Dies
Mrs Ollie West wife of Frank Weat a renter on Geo Hibbets farm near Nicholsville died after a gasoline stove flare up. She was fatally burned skin burned away and died about a day and a half later. Plea of Guilty After Raid Seizures at Slater Property
Sheriff Schweisnsberger from Hillsboro raided Jesse Slater in Geat Settlement, seizing a still and fifty gallons of mash. A man described as colored confessed before Mayor Miller to selling and manufacturing corn liquor. Slater was fined 600 dollars for operating the still and 300 for selling liquor, the latter later remitted. He paid 177 on the 500 dollar fine and arranged weekly installments of 10 dollars to finish the rest.
