Inn Manager in Jail for Murder of Nev ille Shanty-boater
Percy McMath, 59, manager of the Mound Inn near Neville, is held in county jail awaiting a preliminary murder hearing for the death of Alex Curtis, 69, a river shanty-boater and aid fisherman. Curtis threatened to cut McMath with a knife before McMath fired a shotgun, killing Curtis instantly. Witnesses expected. hearing set for Friday at Odd Fellows Hall in Pt. Shabel.

Henderson Given One to Three Years for Non-Support

Farm Home Burns Near Batavia in Dawn Blaze
A farm home belonging to Victor Carter on the Billy Lewis farm two miles south of Batavia on Davis Pike burned to the ground last Friday morning around 10 30. Origin undetermined, no one was home, interiors gutted before flames could be checked. The only saved items were the clothes the Carters wore. contents were uninsured with exact loss undetermined.

Visit to Veterans Facility by Fourth District Legion
The First Rehabilitation trip of the American Legion and American Legion Auxiliary Fourth District sponsored Sunday visit to the Veterans Facility in Chillicothe Ohio. Posts and Units toured the Hobby Shop hospital and other buildings and called on members. Birthday boys in June received ice cream cake and cigarettes in the auditorium. A program by Cincinnati units followed for attendees. One hundred district members attended, bringing spools magazines golf balls and paying cards. Clermont county units Wiley Croswell No 224 Felicity and Frank W Weaver No 237 Batavia participated.
