The May 18 ceremony for the new Erie County Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse building on Bauer Road featured State Rep Sam Bateman Commissioners Jerry McBride Martha Dorsey and Charles Clendenin mental health director James Wasserman COA president Larry Graves and Judge Robert Ringland. County commissioners donated the land and the state health department provided a grant. The building will be owned by the mental health board and leased to COA for 30 years with rent directed toward repayment. John Kel Alcoholism director will depart July 17 and relocate his family to Richmond Virginia to join a healthcare firm. he helped plan the new offices.
