The Monroe Township Chamber of Commerce sponsors a Country Western dance at the W.F.W. Hall in New Rich mond on June 20 from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m. Misfits provide music. For more information call 553-3952. The chamber plans a sixth annual Open Horse Show on Sunday and invites new members. Meetings are held every third Thursday at 8 p.m. at the Monroe Township building on SR 222.
Openings remain for YWCA swimming lessons at the Girls Friendly Society outdoor pool on Laurel Road near Clemontville. Sessions run June 23 to July 31 on Tuesdays and Thursdays 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Fridays 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Pre registration is required. for details call 732-0450.
Willowville Gleneste Knothole Baseball Association will hold its 8th Annual All-Star Festival June 19 20 and 21 at McGuire Field 1248 Cincinnati Batavia Pike Willowville. All teams will be represented in all-star games booths food drinks and prizes.

Senator Finan's bid to create a Clermont County Municipal Court with three full time judges is likely finished after a 17 to 15 Senate defeat. Judge Hugh Nichols said there are no plans to revive it, citing July recess and ongoing backlog in County Court. The measure would have moved Batavia mayors court duties and faced opposition from Neal Zimmers and local bar leaders.
Franklin D. Peden of Loveland will receive 4000 from Clermont County for wrongful incarceration in the Clermont County jail starting November 8, 1980. The claim cites unlawful detention and cites Peden’s residence in Loveland.
