Hearing Delayed For Archie Sapp In Batavia
Archie Sapp 39 accused of second degree murder asked for a delayed hearing to secure an attorney after a quarrel with wife Dena Fay 23. He shot Arlie Bravard 59 early Saturday at the Sapp residence four miles north of 0. He surrendered at Rudd's Tavern then led sheriff's office to the courthouse for questioning. Bravard services were set for 2:00 pm Tuesday at John Hayden funeral home Felicity with burial in Calvary Cemetery.

Six persons were sentenced in Mayor J. F. Paschal s court for traffic violations. The list includes James Malone of Batavia Route 3 with improper passing on Route 74. John Wetzel of Batavia. and others from Wilmington Milford Williamsburg Branchester who pleaded guilty. Fines ranged from 10 to 15 dollars with costs, plus a three day jail term for one offender.

Youth Injured While Operating Chain Saw in Loveland
Rodney Fisher 18 son of Mr and Mrs Harry C Fisher of Oakland Road suffered serious injuries to his left leg while using a power chain saw on property of Miss Ida Rees at Beach and Miami Roads. He was transported to Our Lady of Mercy Hospital in the Tufts ambulance.
Water Plans Are Discussed in Clermont County
A meeting at the Clermont County Court house with county commissioners and engineers covered water system plans. A $2,375,000 Batavia Union and Pierce townships project and Milford Mulberry area plan were reviewed with financing options discussed and Alfred Lefeber Associates represented. Milford engineer Jack H Puller volunteered to survey the Milford Mulberry system as over 150 customers have shown interest.

Youths Capture After Overturning Stolen Auto
Two 17 year olds overturned a stolen car Sunday in a field on State Route 749 near U. S. 8. Farmer Mr. Proctor identified them, and Highway Patrolman F N Gibbons questioned them. The car belonged to Joseph Gosink of Norwood. The youths admitted robbery of the auto and other Clermont County thefts and the Withamsville school lootings.

Promised $300000 for S R 125 improvements
South Union Township Civic Association has long sought upgrades to State Route 125 from the Hamilton County line to Amelia. Division 8 officials say a planned 1954 end year program allocates $300,000 for widening to 24 feet, resurfacing, and correcting alignment and profile to reduce accidents and improve safety on the 20 foot wide highway.

Clermont County Phone Rates Reduced Under New Tariff
A revised Ohio tariff filed with the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio lowers Clermont County rates retroactive to June 5. The plan cuts gross annual revenue by 1,653,334 dollars, reduces residence lines by 35 cents per month, and trims business base rates by 75 cents in some areas and 50 cents in rural zones.
