Voters split on school levies in Clermont area
In Clermont Northeastern District voters approved a 6.5 mill operating levy while New Richmond voters rejected a 7.9 mill levy. New Richmond Board may reballot Aug 30. If repeated defeats occur programs and activities could be cut and class sizes rise. Nearby Williamsburg approved a fire equipment purchase and current expenses levy. Loveland Clermont County rejected a $120,000 bond.

County study warns Clermont facing severe soil erosion
In Batavia Ohio on June 16 1977 landscape architect Eric Doepke and planner Menelaos Triantafillou told officials that Clermont County suffers severe soil erosion driven by development. They urged intelligent site selection and use of the water and soil impact study in future proposals. Public meeting to present results will follow.
