Directors Named For Camp Simms In Milford

John and Suzanne Gilsdorf are appointed directors of Camp Simms simmer swimming and day camp in Milford. Gilsdorf plans to enter UC College of Medicine this fall after premedical studies at Toledo and Ohio State. Camp runs June 27 to August 27 with YMCA contact numbers for more information.

Planning Group Adds Two to Clermont County Board

County Commissioners appoint Vancel Keeler of Loveland and E Ralph House of Goshen as new planning commission members for three year terms ending May 7 1963. Reappointed is William Frye replacing Jack Fuller and Timothy Hogan. Keeler retires from Loveland Mutual. House runs a contracting firm in St Bernard and leads Goshen zoning efforts.

Republican Clubs Meet Thursday in Clermont County

The Clermont County GOP Clubs will hold its regular monthly meeting at the Mt Lookout Savings and Loan building in Amelia on Thursday June 9 at 8 p m Russell Simmons Men s Club president said George Sidwell of Milford chair of the Republican Executive committee will be guest speaker The meeting aims to advance the party platform for the November election Simmons urged unregistered Clermont County residents to register at the Batavia Board of Elections.

Highway Relocation Hearing Date Set

William Morris Named Clermont County Food Inspector

William E. Morris age 32 of Mt. Re pose will replace Robert L. Hall as Clermont County restaurant and food inspector after Hall resigned. Stanley Gaskins missed the interview by district sanitarian John Todd. Gaskins reportedly took a job with Carl H. Rush.

The seventh annual Washington Family Descendants gathering, led by John W. Smith, will take place in Williamsburg June 12 13 14. League Of Voters To Study Tax Dollar And Health Needs

Milford Clermont County League of Women Voters held its annual meeting May 25 at Waldschmidt House. Officials and members selected local study topics on Clermont County health service needs and tax dollar sources and expenditures. Officers and board members were named for the coming year. Historical Society hosts gave a tour of the Waldschmidt House.

Burg Approves Sewer System for Williamsburg

Williamsburg voters approved a $550000 sewer system by 259 to 249 after two prior defeats. The plan funds $450000 revenue bonds and $100000 assessment bonds with potential Federal aid. Nearby Milford and Bethel have sewer projects financed with federal funds.

Death Car Driver Given Probation

James R. Hawking 22 of Glen Este Williamsville Road pleaded guilty to second degree manslaughter and received five years probation and an 18 month driver license suspension with work travel allowed. He drove the car that crashed on US 52 March 10 killing Patricia Denham 17 of New Richmond. Testimony for mitigation came from Brooks Parsons Fred Holt and Rev Edward Tuten.

Amelia appoints Bethel engineers as village engineer

Mayor Lewis Lillich announced Amelia's council has employed Jessora McGill and Smith of Bethel as village engineers. The pair will offer street repair proposals starting with Floral Avenue and South Kline Avenue from Main Street, with work advancing as funds permit.

Hayden Heads New Chrysler Agency

Howard J. Hayden, formerly of New Richmond and now a resident of Indian Hill, presides over a new Chrysler Agency at 7789 Montgomery Road Kenwood. A half million dollar showroom and service departments are under construction and cars are already being sold on an adjacent lot with 150 Imperials Chryslers Plymouths and Valiants on display. Union Township Zoning Defines Non conforming Homes

Union Township Rural Zoning Commission clarifies non conforming versus conforming dwellings under the township ordinance. Chairman Carl Shephard Sr. notes that any completed residence or under construction in areas where residences were allowed before the zoning takes effect is considered conforming.

Hold on court house cost at $130000

County Commissioners moved to revise specifications on the proposed court house addition to fit a $130 000 budget or abandon the project. Changes proposed by Barbeau Construction and the County Engineer would cut about 6 418 dollars, including foundations and heating, while bids already received totaled 101 718 for general contract plus 20 310 plumbing and 17 266 electrical.

YMCA Opens Clermont Youth Swimming Course

The YMCA at Camp Simms offers a nine week youth swimming program for 8 to 18 year olds starting June 27. Sessions run 3 to 6 pm weekdays and 10 am to 1 pm Saturdays with separate supervised slots for boys and girls.
