School Closes After Busy Month for Buds of Promise
Miss Annabel Flora hosted a small school in Amelia from May 29 for eight to nine year old pupils. Fifty four children attended with parents for a lawn picnic and circus in a barn. A substantial lunch, ice cream and cake followed by games ended around 4. The event honored by Aunt Anna Sanders and helpers Mrs Love and Mrs Smith among others.

New Band Stand At Court House Corner In Batavia
The Batavia Concert Band announces Thursday summer concerts from the new band stand near the courthouse. Built by the Business Men's Club, the stand rises four feet and spans 1824 feet, housing about 40 musicians. It is modular for winter removal and opened last Thursday despite threatening weather with a good crowd.
