Clermont County Grand Jury Returns 22 Indictments

The Clermont County grand jury filed 22 indictments and dismissed two cases after a two day session with 37 witnesses. Notable indicted include Robert Grayson for forgery and multiple others for breaking and entering and vehicle offenses. 250 Students Sign With Employment Offices Tests Open

Seniors from Amelia Bethel and Milford schools took the Ohio State employment general aptitude and achievement tests. About 250 Clermont County students have registered for work with the state employment service. Students not yet tested can take the exam at the Ohio State Employment office in Cincinnati, praised by superintendents J. H. Fley, J. W. Alley Bethel, and James Wooldridge of Amelia for their value.

Loveland Sister Missing After Seattle Visit

Hugh Covert of Rt 2 asks Cincinnati police to locate his sister Rosemary 23 who did not arrive as planned from Seattle Washington. The platinum blonde 5 feet 8 inches tall weighs 128 pounds with poor vision wears pink tinted glasses. She was visiting a sister in Seattle and was to return to West Union via Cincinnati.

Bandits Take $18,000 From Milford Farm and Home Center

Armed robbers struck the Farm and Home Center near Milford in the early hours, binding watchman William Williamson and fleeing with a safe containing about $18,000. Deputy Charles E. McNutt cited tracks suggesting a heavy pickup used to haul the safe. workers notified sheriff Clyde Dericks and store manager John Veidt. Also noted is a Clermont County highway contract awarded to T. D. Ulrich of Lebanon with work to finish by October 1.

Tax Collection May Hit $2 Million

County Treasurer John P. Friend Jr. reports first half tax receipts at $1,035,267 with year total near $2 million if collections continue. Total charge reached $2,124,253 including $126,459 in delinquencies and $21,000 in special assessments. Deadline for payment is July 31.

Clermont County Gains in State Savings and Loan Assets

Clermont County shows a 25.5 percent rise in building and loan assets in 1955, surpassing the Ohio state average of 15.25 percent and moving up to 13th in per capita assets and 28th in total assets. Heart Massage Fails To Restore Child To Life

Nancy Ellen Fisher seven, daughter of Mr and Mrs William Fisher of Withamsville, died Tuesday night at Children's Hospital after three physicians performed heart massage for hours. She had undergone a tonsillectomy six weeks earlier and suffered a hemorrhage Sunday then again Tuesday during surgery. Survived by sister Mary Katherine and brother William. Youth Struck In Hand In Home Invasion Incident

Raymond Roe 16 son of Henry Roe Milford contractor was struck in the left hand Monday night by William Buxton 75 of Buxton Road and Clough Pike near here. Deputy sheriffs report Buxton and his sister had been annoyed repeatedly at night by four youths who drove away after knocking on the door. Roe treated by a physician and moved to Christ Hospital. Other youths named are Raymond Murphy 16 Frank Wyebold 16 both of Clough Lane and Richard Haynes 17 of Milford. Court Upholds Merger Opinion In Clermont County

The Sixth District Court of Appeals sustained Judge John Houston of Georgetown who granted an injunction preventing the Clermont County Board of Education from mergers of Mt. Carmel-Glen Este Amelia and Williamsville Tabasco. The merger carried by a small margin despite opposition from Amelia and Mt. Carmel-Glen Este. The injunction cited that the board met in a special session to place the issue on the ballot. The board was ordered to pay court costs and the case remanded to Common Pleas Court for further action.

State Route 125 relocation plan eyed after smooth June 1 hearing

A June 1 hearing on adjusting the alignment of State Route 125 near the Clermont Hamilton line went smoothly. The plan relocates the road southeast from Route 125 and William Drive, adds four lanes, and would join the current road west of Fulton Grove Road. The project advances with August 21 contract sale date contingent on right-of-way progress.

Talking crow greets visitors at Wonderland Park

Wonderland Park adds a talking crow from Kansas that greets guests with the question Whats Charles outside for Its vocabulary spans 20 words and it will keep talking as long as listeners remain. Clerk Submits Clermont Library Budget Report

Miss Doris Wood, clerk of the Clermont Library Board and county librarian, filed the 1957 budget estimate with county auditor Earle Kincaid. The request shows an increase from 33930 to 55049 with 3600 for an assistant librarian, 7000 for other salaries, 7000 for books, and 10000 to buy a second bookmobile.
