Owensville Police Chief Richard Davis Resigns
Police Chief Richard Davis of Owensville resigned Monday night but will remain on duty through June. The council approved a one week vacation in July but requires completion of one year on patrol before eligibility. Applications for a new chief will be accepted, says Mayor Oskamp.

Child 5 Dies After Struck In Own Driveway
Funeral services were held for Foster Cooper aged five at Lew F. White Memorial Funeral Home New Richmond. He suffered fatal injuries last Saturday when struck by a runaway car in his driveway as it rolled backward off blocks during repairs by his father and a relative. He died on arrival at a Cincinnati hospital. The incident occurred during Memorial Day weekend in Clermont County with 22 hurt in 28 accidents. none other was serious.

A male monkey kept as a pet by Shirley lpanoee in New Richmond has escaped from a cage at New Richmond Pets on Front Street and climbed into a tree. Fire crews armed with ladders bananas and snares have failed to retrieve him as crowds watch the animal perches in the branches. The animal remains at large by Tuesday afternoon entertaining onlookers and resisting capture.
