The Clermont County Teachers Institute will meet at Bethel in August from the 18th to the 22nd. Every teacher in the county should attend and will receive $10 for expenses from the school board. The committee is securing talent for departments to make it the best ever. The session was once planned on a boat trip on the Ohio River from New Richmond but was dropped due to cost. Districts planned to vote on school levies in August but a law finding blocks such action. Propositions must go to a regular November election. County School Board can place the levy on the duplicate for the requested period. State aid depends on local tax support.
Oldest Deed Offered for Record in Clermont County
A deed dated September 22 1808 transferring 200 acres in Goshen township was presented for record by administrator P J Miller to Andrew Neufong. At the time Goshen township had few residents and land valued little more than a dollar. It stands as the oldest deed offered for record.
