Ogletree Signs with Cincinnati Star Athlete Duo
Don Ogletree outstanding Batavia High School athlete and son of Mr and Mrs Clarence Ogletree signed a letter of intent with the University of Cincinnati for the fall term. He received the most outstanding athlete award at commencement Sunday in a presentation by Coach Bob Clousson. He has lettered in baseball for three years and holds the 440 yard dash record in the Cincinnati District.

June 17 Expense Filing Deadline for Candidates
Secretary of State Ted W. Brown warns candidates and committees from the May Primaries that 4 p.m. June 17 is the filing deadline for receipts and expenditures. Clermont Realtors Warn Housing Plan Dangerous
Ernest C. Friedrich of the Clermont County Board of Realtors urged lawmakers to oppose a federal housing proposal he says would strip owners of the right to choose buyers or renters. He argued the plan undermines freedom of contract, urges voluntary community education, and cites a California MLS survey showing minimal racial restrictions in listings. Batavia High School captured its first State Class A track and field championship in Columbus. Dave Smith and Don Ogletree contributed 14 points across three events with Smith taking the 100 yard dash in 10.1 seconds and placing second in the 220 yard dash at 22.8 seconds while Ogletree finished second in the 440 yard dash with a 50.7 second performance. Coach Robert Clousson, departing for Fairfield, was named Class A Track Coach of the Year by the Ohio High School Athletic Association.
