Minister Rev W L Hypes Dies at Home in Dayton
Death called Rev W L Hypes a prominent Methodist minister at his Dayton home. He joined the ministry in 1856 and led the Ripley Conference then presided the Clermont district for fifteen years. His efforts built churches at Olive Branch Williamsburg and Amelia. He was about 76 and deeply beloved in the county.

Death of W H Allery Prominent Plainville Educator
W H Allery died at his Plainville home in Hamilton county on Saturday in his fortynineth year. Buried at Bethel yesterday. He served as Bethel and Felicity school superintendent and for ten years as county school examiner. Active in the Institute and educational affairs. He had married Miss Durham of Bethel and leaves four children. He recently was Plainville school superintendent after leaving Clermont eight years ago. Widely admired by county residents for his work and friendship.

Juvenile jailed as sheriff offers yard liberty
A 13 year old orphan from Loveland is taken to Sheriff Teal for confinement but is allowed to play in the jail yard with strict limits. The boy, accused of a $2 theft, runs away the next day and is returned, likely to a reform school.
