In Hamilton County Ohio the judge sheriff and clerk drew 76 names from the county jury for the State of Ohio vs. Robert Greg indicted for first degree murder in the death of Ed Wood. Corner Stone Laid at Batavia U B Church

The laying of the corner stone was carried out to the letter last Sunday afternoon. Fellow Farmers are urged to attend the Stonelick Farmers Meeting at Owensville High School on Wednesday evening August 4 at 7:30. Sheriff Fred Croswell reports a busy year with jail figures and crime counts. Vandals toppled stones at Amelia Citizens cemetery while a Go Devil gas truck was struck by a westbound freight near Batavia. The Clermont county fair plans August 18 to 21 with bands and premium displays.

Mill Dam Repairs At Batavia Roller Mills

Roscoe Tyler owner of Batavia Roller Mills plans extensive dam improvements begun on the old Lindsey Moore structure. Apron logs will be removed and replaced with rock gravel and cement creating a stronger barrier. Tyler has 260 yards gravel a car load cement and 100 perch stone ready. The reinforced dam will resist high water and ice. six cottages on the island house summer campers.

Exp. Farm Notes reports the July 21 field meeting with about 125 visitors and 40 cars. Attendees toured fertility plots, clover experiments, tobacco and potato fertility plots, and sheep pasture work. Demonstrations covered corm stalk value, manure value, and phosphated manure value on Clermont county soil.

United Brethren Picnic Set For Owensville Grounds

The United Brethren annual picnic is planned for next Saturday July 31 at Owensville Fair Grounds. A large crowd is expected with a morning baseball game between married and single men and an afternoon U B team versus New Richmond Baptist S S. Guernsey Field Day Set for August 6 at Wooster

The Ohio Guernsey Breeders Association will hold its annual field day at Wooster fair grounds on August 6 1926. Activities include herd site shows and a dairy cow trial under L L Rummel and R B Thompson with E Bayard as presiding judge. An essay contest for children under 16 on why Guernseys belong on Ohio farms offers three prizes including a dam ball call.

Nichols Son Passes State Bar With High Rank

Hugh Conklin Nichols, son of Mr and Mrs Allen B Nichols, passed the State Bar exam ranking second in a class of about 700.
