The Cincinnati Nature Center features spring summer and fall biology programs for children across several age groups. Participants include Spence Sedacca of Mt. Carmel and Gary Bassett. The programs run through Atavia Ohio with Pat Fortney photography.
Stanley Anstaett, Amelia Elementary School principal, plans retirement effective Aug. 1 after a 50 year career all in the same Ohio district. He began teaching in 1922 at Whitaker School and later led Amelia Elementary, coached baseball, and helped found Clermont County Knothole Baseball in 1949. He will spend retirement fishing, shooting, gardening, and scouting for the Reds while visiting family in New York Chicago and Tucson.
Debbie Combs 15 died Friday from a self inflicted head wound in Felicity near Clermont County. Police say she picked up a .22 pistol from the front seat while with two unidentified men and another runaway, believing the weapon unloaded. She left behind her parents, a brother, and six sisters.
Loveland was awarded a HUD grant as part of a $176,950 package to 20 local communities and counties for comprehensive planning. Resignation of M. Stephana as executive director of the Clermont County Mental Health and Mental Retardation Board was announced last week. Dale seeks other employment as the board searches for a replacement.
Testimony continued in the second trial of Elmer D. Wynn 32 of near Eve party at Laurel. Morgan testified Wynn stabbed her twice during a melee at the Clermont County Foxhunters Association event. Her husband Eddie observed the knife, and said he feared reprisals for revealing it earlier.
The Vo-Ed Board weighs hiring Gaffney of Cincinnati to run publicity for a $3.91 levy per $1000 valuation for the U S Grant Vocational School District. A $3000 promotional fee would be funded by contributions, with volunteers from Bethel Tate New Richmond Felicity Franklin and Williamsburg districts. The Bethel area school would serve the district, with a first year operating budget of $477 171.
