West Clermont Board Seeks 1.5 Million Bond for Schools

At the July 16 meeting the West Clermont Board of Education approved a resolution to place a 1.5 million dollar bond issue on the November 1962 ballot. Funds would build fire proof schools, add to facilities, buy equipment, acquire land, and improve sites. The move aims to end double sessions and provide regular sessions for all pupils, with kindergarten restored to the term. The district notes church rentals have produced substandard classrooms. The district also reports improved teacher recruitment, with 16 resignations (less than 8 percent) versus a national 10 percent.
