Two Injured In Route 32 and 74 Collision

At 7:45 am Saturday at the intersection of old Route 74 and new Route 32 Willowville, Louis G Franzieb 69 was cited for running a stop sign. His vehicle struck Janet Kilgore 24, who and another occupant suffered facial and knee lacerations and were hospitalized. A second crash near Hamersville at 4:15 pm involved Mary Bononini 40 and Olive Jones 43. Bononini was cited for speeding and sustained fractures and lacerations, while Jones and her children were treated at Brown County Hospital Georgetown.

Rosemire Beaten Robbed of 400 Dollars

Rosemire 71 of Gray's Lane Robin Hill Subdivision was beaten and robbed of 400 by two men outside his home Monday at 9 p.m. He was taken to Bethesda Hospital by the New Richmond Life Squad and listed in fair condition. Clermont County sheriff's deputies Pierce Township and New Richmond police investigated. Police said he had deposited 4000 in cash Monday and they suspect trouble over cash deliveries to his home.

Mt Holly United Church of Christ Festival on Aug 3

Plans grow for MT. HOLLY festival at the Mt. Holly United Church of Christ on Saturday Aug 3 starting at 2:00 p.m. Activities include a kiddie carousel dunk em and games plus booths with baked goods country store and an auction at 7:30 p.m. A full course dinner sandwiches desserts and homemade ice cream will be offered on the church grounds one mile east of Amelia on State Route 125.

The Clermont County Heart Council of the Heart Association of Greater Cincinnati will elect officers on Tuesday July 23 at 8 p.m. at Batavia Presbyterian Church. Nominees include Mrs Karl South president Mrs Mery Jean Bach vice president Mrs Hilda Mandeville secretary treasurer Mrs Sylvia Richey telephone chairman and Dr F S Skeen trustee delegate. All interested in council activities are invited.

At a Clermont County Board of Health meeting officials urged treating all bats as infected and starting rabies treatment for bat bites. They advised vaccinating dogs and cats, avoiding handling strange animals, washing bites, recognizing the animal, seeing a physician, reporting bites, and storing a biting animal’s head for Health Department guidance.

The limited edition memorial profiles 79 Cincinnati area physicians since 1757 for the late Dr. Muhlberg, former VP and medical director of Union Central Life. Former Batavia Village Clerk Sarah Paxton Dies

Miss Sarah Elizabeth Paxton 460 Main St Batavia died at 1230 a.m. Wednesday at Sheltering Oaks Hospital Cincinnati. Former Batavia village clerk had been ill since May 9 when she suffered a stroke. Moore funeral home Batavia will be in charge of arrangements at press time.

County Chooses Depositories For County Funds

County commissioners adopted a tentative 1964 budget of 1 010 000 and named Clermont National Bank Batavia Branch as depository for active funds with up to 3 509 000 in inactive and active funds. Citizens Bank Felicity up to 100 000 at 3 1 8 percent and New Richmond National Bank up to 150 000 at 2 percent. First National Bethel bid was disqualified for offering to accept active funds.

North Union Township volunteer fire department readies its eighth annual festival at the Summerside firehouse grounds. Highlights include butterfly jack dinners windy fried chicken meals, kiddie rides, a ferris wheel, pony track, and special prizes such as hi fi stereo combos, electric rotisseries, transistor radios, and a Rin Tin Tin descendant German Shepherd pup. Shorn wool payments for 1962 marketing year set at 30 percent of dollar returns to producers. Clermont County official Carey C Thompson notes rate aligns with national wool program to lift average wool price from 47.7 to 62 cents per pound. Payment equals 30 dollars per 100 dollars of marketings for year ended March 31 1963. Unshorn lamb wool incentive 57 cents per hundredweight, to deter premarket shearing.

Soldier Charged With Car Theft

A young soldier from the missile base near Felicity was arrested Tuesday night for car theft by Felicity Patrolman Natty Altman. He was taken to juvenile detention in Batavia after neighbors saw him take a car from Kennedy funeral home parking lot at 8 45 p.m. Police caught him at 9 30 p.m. He claimed he only borrowed the car and intended to return it after taking his wife to the bus station.
