Sniper incidents alarm Clermont County police

Clermont County law enforcement reports three sniper incidents in two weeks injuring two people. Earl Leroy Pringle was shot in the hip near Newtonsville. Edith Lewis Todd had bullet fragments removed from her body. J B Wilson narrowly escaped a 25 caliber bullet through a door. A local Reverend has taken up fishing as a pastime amid the unrest.

Bingo and Card Party at Batavia Armory

The American Legion Auxiliary sponsors a Bingo and Card Party at the Batavia Armory on Friday evening July 19 at 8 o'clock. Members donated prizes including nylon hose chicken and cheese sandwiches coffee and soft drinks will be served.

Schrope Arrested Third Time In Three Months

Walter Schrope, 21, of Williamsburg, was arrested for reckless driving for the third time in three months. Deputies Marvin Bissantz and Frank Hutchinson made the July 12 arrest at Clermont County Jail.

Fire swept the Roudebush farm near Below town injuring a wheat field and about 15 tons of hay after a freight eastbound train sparked dry vegetation. The area remains extremely dry as the sun’s intensity fuels further burn potential and vegetation loss.

Distribution of 1946 license plate funds to Clermont County

The State Auditor reports the second advanced 1946 license plate revenue distribution totaling $5,048,524.80 for the state. Boy Scouts Active at Clermont County Fair

The Boy Scouts will manage traffic and a First Aid Station at the Clermont County Fair. They will serve as messengers and host a Merit Badge and Cub Scout Exhibition. Exhibits are open to all Clermont County Scouts with reservations required by July 31.
