Congressman William H Harsha will open a mobile district office in New Richmond on Thursday July 24. The site is Front Street near the Building and Loan. Office hours are 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. District representative Bill Fawley will be available.
Knothole Days set for July 19 from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. and July 20 starting 1 p.m. at the Knothole field at Willow Street end. Entertainment includes coach and manager games against A-ball boys and Knothole Mothers versus Softball Mothers. Prizes, fish fry, and watermelon featured.
Recreation officials face funding gaps as the Clermont County Auditor and commissioners discuss transfer of funds to cover summer playground costs. The program for school age children ends July 25, with county dollars only covering ad for programs. Commissioner votes to reallocate, but rejects further motions. In 1979 the county reportedly spent most of its budget through July 10 with outstanding orders and a final $1560 bill for school use.
Diane Lowman selected as Owensville principal in a board decision for the 1981 calendar year. The Northeastern Board approved a budget totaling 4,113,254 dollars with required legal appropriations by July 15. Contd on page 7.
