Seventy five Crawford county farmers sustain pure bred poultry to feed the cooperative hatchery at Tiro. In June the plant shipped 12 000 chicks weekly to Ohio and other states. Incubators run 800 feet with 66 000 egg capacity and heat from automatic hot water boilers at 108 degrees. Fertility is checked before incubation. Each Tuesday during March to October a batch of chicks is shipped to customers.
