Norma Kincaid of 4220 Roselawn Batavia received the Governor's Award for Community Action from State Rep. Harry C. Malott on behalf of Gov. John J. Gilligan. She has fostered six children and was named Citizen of the Year earlier by the Batavia Businessmen's Association for her volunteer work supporting the needy and disadvantaged.

A former 1968 Police Department room is set for office use with a phone to be installed this week. The mayor had claimed being locked out of police and clerk offices. The New Richmond Ferry captained by Aaron Cornett won the annual fundraising race at New Richmond.
