Suit Filed Against Trustees Over Road Leading to Pt Pleasant Cemetery
Fred Stairs, a Monroe Township taxpayer, filed in Clermont County Common Pleas Court on Friday to compel the trustees to repair the road to Pt Pleasant Cemetery. The action follows trustees inaction on a June 8 petition signed by 25 township residents. The cemetery, about 100 years old, remains in use.
Work Halted On Section Of Amelia Highway
George C. Latham of Amelia obtained an injunction against D. A. Smaley Construction Co. of Celina blocking widening work in front of Latham’s property. He claimed 30 feet had been deeded to the state but more was taken. Hearing set for August 4. Other sections of the project proceed.

Kentucky Man Charged With Reckless Driving
James Brooks of Newport Kentucky was cited by Sheriff Clyde Dericks and Deputy Frank Hutchinson on charges of reckless driving after the car owned by Wayne Curtiss of Newport failed to make a curve on Tealtown Road and crashed into an embankment. Aaron Stevenson of Madisonville and his stepson Henry Fisher were also in the car. all four sustained minor injuries.

Youths Admit Theft. youths rounded up in Milford
Clarence Worden, 20, of Madisonville, and two 16 year olds from Madisonville and Cincinnati were found asleep in a car on Wooster Pike Milford. Patrolman Charles Brewster found a loaded 22 caliber pistol a 30 caliber rifle and a toy pistol in the auto. The trio reportedly confessed robberies in Hamilton County and gas thefts near Batavia and Williamsburg. They were taken to Hamilton County where they have prior police records.

Unruly Prisoner Held in Batavia After Drunken Driving Arrest
Roy Towell Minton of Cincinnati was jailed in Batavia for failing to pay a $100 fine and costs for drunken driving after being observed swerving across the center line on Main Street. Sheriff Clyde Dericks and Police Chief Ed Colonel called him the most unruly prisoner.

Batavia Man Held On Bad Check Charge
John Carter Jr of Batavia was bound over to Clermont County Grand Jury on a bad check charge after arraignment before Justice of the Peace Nellie Mattox. Bond was set at $1000. Cary Fleming 58 of Bethel was fined 100 dollars for drunken driving by Mayor J F Paschal of Batavia after an early Monday accident on route 222 near Nicholsville involving Cary Fleming and Frederick M Cooper. William W Fleming 34 of Bethel must answer resisting arrest and was fined 50 dollars and costs for intoxication and disorderly conduct. Patrolman W E Lewis arrested them. William Fleming was released from jail after a habeas corpus writ argued in Clermont County Common Pleas, claiming a state trooper had no right to arrest a passenger for drunkenness.

Two Escape Injury In Car Truck Crash At Route 7 Olive Branch
A crash on route 7 in Olive Branch involved a truck loaded with steel castings owned by Ford and Gordon Day of Mt. Crab and a car. Driver Theodore Davis 54 of Mt. Crab and Albert M. Yochum 69 of Batavia were not injured. Damages were several hundred dollars. no arrests were made.
