Highland storm causes quarter million damage in Hillsboro county
An account from Hillsboro Gazette dated July 7 describes the worst storm in memory that flooded Highland county. It damaged roads bridges and public property with estimates around a quarter of a million dollars and washed away culverts and fences. Families reported crop losses and widespread land damage as 15 feet of water stood at Chautauqua park.
