Woman Killed In Crossing Mishap On Rt 32
Summerside reports a fatal crash at the Rt 32 and old Rt 74 crossing. Theresa Kohmescher 72 of Cincinnati died as her daughter Betty Wehrman 39, drove north to cross when struck by a westbound telephone truck driven by Herbert Edwards 30 of Cincinnati. Wehrman suffered face lacerations and possible injuries. Edwards had a leg injury. Jewel Davenport 28 of Batavia drove a second car involved. Patrolman H R Christian continues investigation.

Brothers Drown In Ohio River Mishap
Funeral services for Don Woods age 11 and Duane Woods age 13 of 299 South Third Street were held at their home and Linwood Cemetery Russellville. The brothers drowned in the Ohio River while wearing inner tubes and were recovered by dam workers around 5 p.m. Coroner Dr. Phillips F. Greene reported them dead. The New Richmond Life Squad police and sheriff responded alongside family members and two sisters Debra and Diane and brothers David and Daryl.

Batavia’s Sesquicentennial week will feature a two night outdoor pageant on July 23 and 24 at the school grounds. NEW RICHMOND Arch Wrigglesworth former mayor of New Richmond was seriously hurt in a fall at Metzger Hardware on December 3. He returned to Christ Hospital last week for brain surgery after a temporary paralysis on the left side. His wife says infection caused the issue has been removed, the paralysis should fade within two weeks, and he is comfortable and improving.
